"Sound Maps of the Nature" at the XESC 2014

On the next 3rd of July we will present the project "Sound Maps of the Nature" at the II Simposi XESC (Xarxa d’Escoles Sostenibles de Catalunya) which will deal with school and territory matters. It's an academic and exchange space for the XESC center teachers which will take place at the Cornella de Llobregat auditorium.

"Sound Maps of the Nature" is a project that counts with the suport of the Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT), and which aim is to promote the knowledge and the interest of the secondary and high school students for the environment through the work with sounds and technologies. This project includes workshops in which the students will listen, record the sounds of the nature and the create a sound map of these natural places; also, it provides a big amount of teaching tools to ease the realization of the workshops in other centers.

During the 2013-2014 school year, 10 workshops have been realized at the Espais Naturals del Delta del Llobregat called “The Delta del Llobregat Sounds” in collaboration with the Prat de Llobregat council in which have participated students from different schools of the Prat de Llobregat.
