Carnatic music is an important classical musical tradition of Southern India that has evolved over the centuries as an oral tradition. The melodies and rhythms of this music are based on the concepts of rāga and tāla. The compositions with various forms of improvisation acquire an important role in the performance, resulting in a unique musical experience.

This activity is part of the research project CompMusic MTG and is included within the Art Music of the World concert series.
